Our Embeddable Audit Tool is used by thousands of digital agencies for SEO lead generation and to bring in new clients.

Today, we’re proud to announce several new updates to this popular tool.

These feature updates are inspired by feedback we’ve been receiving from some of our customers and some internal brainstorming sessions.

All of the feature updates I’m sharing in this post are available to all White Label Embedding plan users. So if you’re currently on this plan, then you won’t need to upgrade to get access to any of these features.

The first and most significant update that we’re introducing today is advanced customer email customization.

So, each time a website visitor completes the SEO Audit form embedded on your website, our system sends out an automated email to the prospect.

With this new feature update, you’ll be able to customize the automated mail that is sent according to your specific needs.

Note: these features are available to all Embedded Audit forms, even the ones that are hosted on the default SEOptimer domain as well as those on your main domain or subdomain.

So what are these customization options that you can change?

Embed Customer Inputted Form Values into Emails

When setting up your Embed Form Design, you have the option to add fields such as First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone, or any other Custom Field.

Well, with this new feature release, you can drop all of these fields in the Email Subject Line, Title, and Email Content.

You can also add the Website URL to any of these parts of the email.

In the below screenshot you can see that I added the first name field to the email subject.

add fields to customer email

So it will read something like, “John, Your Website Audit Results” if someone by the name of John completes the form.

You can easily add these custom form fields by clicking on the “Add” dropdown next to each section of the email you’d like to customize.

Furthermore, we’ve updated some new logic so that all the included fields will be mandatory for any new embed forms going forward.

Meaning, if you add First Name, Last Name, and Email in the Embed Form Design section, all of these fields have to be completed by the prospect when they submit their details.

Edit Email Content with Our New Rich Text Editor

With this update, you can also customize the email content to your liking.

We’ve added a Rich Text Editor which gives users the ability to insert different types of elements including images, tables, links, lists, and various text formatting options.

Again, you can also add the different form fields to personalize the email content.

So, if I want to add a personalized greeting to the email, I’d just click on the “Add” drop-down button and choose “First Name.”

The form field will be inserted there where your cursor is, so be sure to place the cursor in the right spot.

Below is an example of an email I personalized using these form features:

Like before, you can also change some of the fonts and colors in the email that gets sent to prospects.

If you scroll down to below the email editor, you’ll see all of the customization options that you can make.

These include:

  • Header font
  • Header background color
  • Header text color
  • Body font
  • Body text color

You can choose to display or hide your agency logo, as well as the positioning (Left, Center, Right).

Note: If you haven’t added a logo in your Report Template yet, you’ll need to do that first.

I spent some time tweaking a customer email using some of these new features.

Here’s a look at what’s possible and what you can easily replicate:

New lead email

Send Prospect Emails to Multiple Addresses

Whenever a new prospect submits their information in your site audit form, you’ll get a “New Lead” email.

With this new update, you can choose to send these “New Lead” emails to up to 5 unique email addresses.

This is a useful feature for SEO teams and digital agencies with several team members working on client websites.

Restrict Embed Form Submissions

We’ve already got some handy spam blocking features for our embedding plan users. These include:

  • Block IP Addresses: here you can add all of the common IP addresses that you regularly see in the “Leads” section of your account. IP address blocking is the most effective way to prevent spam.
  • Block Email Addresses: you can prevent certain email addresses from repetitively running site audits on your embed forms.
  • Block URLs: here you can block specific websites from running site audits.

max submissions per day

As of today, you can also limit the number of reports an individual IP address can run per day.

You can set this limit in the “Max Number of Submissions Per Day” field. By default, the limit is set to unlimited, but if you add a value, it will restrict the user up to that value.

So if you enter 2 in that field, one user can only submit 2 reports per day. And the limit that you set will be reset each day.

We’ve ensured that your IP address can run unlimited reports per day so that you can test the form without any restrictions.

Users can also set the submission error message whenever someone reaches the maximum number of submissions limit you set.

For instance, you can say set the message to something like, “You’ve reached the maximum number of reports in a day, feel free to contact us if you need help optimizing your website.

Embed the Same Code Multiple Times

Previously, you had to generate a different embed code if you wanted to add another version of the site audit form on your website.

With today’s update, you don’t have to generate a different embed code. Instead, you can now paste the identical code multiple times without needing to create a new code.

Our team has been hard at work to bring these new features to our users, and we trust that you’ll find them useful.
